Google has admitted they have been watching its google desktop users. The reason they admitted it wasn’t on purpose they had to fess up when a bunch of snooty hackers figured out how to use google desktop to exploit people who don’t know any better like you and I.

Here is a basic decription of google desktop from a google employee:????The system lets users set Google’s indexing and searching capabilities loose on their own computers in addition to the Web. The service offers a fast, easy way to find documents, e-mails, instant-messaging transcripts, archived Web pages and other tidbits socked away on PCs. A Google executive once described it as “the photographic memory of your computer.”

Imagine how much data google has on eveyone who is using their product. Their is a significant list of products google has a very googd chance of using their products to track us. Not that I am a conspiracy theorist but they are tracking everything! heres a short list:

1. Google desktop: tracks everything on your pc (check size of program in unistall in your windows setup it is huge-alot of data)
2. Google Searchbar (check size of program in unistall in your windows setup it is huge-alot of data)
3. Urchin (google analytics-this tracks your site and all of its vistors) this is good for web forecasting
4. Google Search (even the government doesn’t have this one) this allows massive tracking of millions of regular users
5. Google Accounts (this includes everything they offer

Imagine how much some of this data is worth the courts have even denied giving it to the government and google regularly fights information sharing with them because it is so very important and valuable.

????JUST IMAGINE WHAT THEY HAVE…….AND HOW THEY USE IT!

I like google and personally dont care but some people may and they should have the right to know whats being tracked!
