ROCK ON AMAZON!????
The company, which has been talking about starting a digital music store for eight years, said Wednesday it will open for business this year.???? The company will offer songs from many small labels, plus major label EMI, home to Coldplay and Norah Jones. Amazon would not give a definitive date for the launch, or announce prices.Apple, which dominates digital music, also plans to begin selling music without restrictions in June. The company has said consumers hate buying music with copy protection (known as digital rights management, or DRM) because those songs can’t play on many devices. Apple also cut a deal with record label EMI. No other major label has offered its music without DRM.
